The play of light and the contrast of texture, form and colour bring vitality to a front garden near Bedford. An Edwardian style garden at Cardington near Bedford.

Enclosure, formality, simplicity and colour characterised the Edwardian garden and these are qualities that we have aimed to encapsulate in this garden made in spring 2004.

The design of the seat is based upon an original made by J.P. White of Bedford.

This small corner of a garden based in St. Albans not far from the Roman site of Verulamium was designed to include elements of a Roman garden. The paving includes terracotta tesserae; hazel hurdles act as a screen; planting includes Acanthus mollis, Myrtus communis (Common Myrtle), Lilium candidum (Madonna Lily) and Myrrhis odorata (Sweet Cicely).
